The Commonwealth Games
In the summer of 2023, Australia dropped out of hosting the 2026 Commonwealth Games under the belief that the event was too expensive to host with too little gain. It took over a year to find a new host country, which ended up being Scotland, a member who has hosted the second most of any single country. With the lack of relevance of the Commonwealth Games and the criticism of the event being a colonial relic, it is tasked upon the Commonwealth Games General Assembly to steer the image of the Commonwealth Games away from its colonial past, as well as working to support the hosting of the game by developing countries.
